We have a Ward 2DS Capstan Lathe for sale.
This English-made Ward 2DS capstan lathe, also known as a turret lathe, features a spindle bore of 1½ inches. It offers a spindle speed ranging from 60 to 2040 RPM and is equipped with a carriage which moves along the bed & has front & rear tool posts, typically used for turning, facing & parting off operations. As well as the standard 6-station turret.
Turret lathes are typically used for high-volume, repetitive machining operations where multiple cutting tools are needed in sequence. They feature a rotating turret that holds multiple tools, allowing operators to perform various machining processessuch as turning, drilling, boring, and threadingwithout manually changing tools.
While CNC machines have largely replaced manual turret lathes in modern production, traditional turret lathes are still valuable for smaller volume production runs of second-op work
We recommend customers pay us a visit to inspect machinery, where we are happy to test run machinery in our warehouse, that way it gives you peace of mind that the machine will do your job before purchase.
