Hartford CNC machining centre debuts

The Hartford 5A-40R - CNC 5-Axis Machining Centre

A new machining centre, launched in Australia by Hare & Forbes, offers its users high performance with a small footprint.

The recently released Hartford 5A-40R – CNC 5-Axis Machining Centre fills a market need for a cost-effective 5-sided machining centre that does not leave big after-effects, the importer says.

Developed by Hartford, which enjoys a reputation for producing high quality machines, this model provides 5-sided machining capabilities for users who may not need the all the facilities of a full 5 axis simultaneous vertical machining centre.

The 5A-40R will appeal to users who are looking for value that is typical of a well-known manufacturer, combined with compact design, high specification control capability and backed up by local service and technical support.

Engineering shops will be attracted to the ability of the 5A-40R to efficiently perform machining on five faces of the job in a single setup.

Its capabilities are ideal for items such as hydraulic manifolds or valve blocks, as well as fast and accurate machining of complex and non-linear parts and components such as turbines, blades, helical forms and other intricate castings.

High precision and rigidity is delivered through oversized THK linear guideways which have ultra-low friction for smooth axis movement.

This C-frame machine features 4,5th axes in a one-piece design. The B and C axis utilises YRT bearings specifically selected for their high axial and radial load characteristics, whilst maintaining very high accuracy.

A precise dual lead worm shaft and gear is designed to deliver a high degree of reliability and maintains accuracy for predictable results.
