Three-wheeler joins Yale range

The UX 3-wheel forklift is joining Yale's Australian range

A new electric lift truck, two electric tow tractors and an electric walkie pallet truck are joining Yale’s UX line-up as the company prepares to cater to a COVID-19 recovery

Yale is expanding its Aussie line-up of UX electric lift and tow trucks to better cater for those only using the machine for a few hours a day.

Mark Chaffey, the Pacific area business director for Hyster-Yale, says the additions now include a 3-wheel forklifts in 1600-2000kg capacity, pallet lift trucks in 1500kg capacity and stand-up and sit-down tow trucks in 3000-6000kg capacity respectively.

“All are engineered to expand the long-established strengths of the Yale brand into wider markets seeking a quality, cost-efficient solution backed globally by service and customised solutions to meet users’ needs for applications requiring less frequent usage,” he says.

The 3-wheel forklifts, he adds, are ideal for areas where space is at a premium – especially for congested loading bays.

A wide-view mast gives the operator a good view of the load, while the small adjustable steering wheel promotes light and precise operation, with precise positioning and without wheel kickback.

European-designed AC controllers coupled with AC traction and hydraulic motors allow for precise controllability, while compact dual-drive motors – one for each front wheel – feature precision-cut gears for reduced wear and lower noise levels.

They come equipped with hydraulic controls and a high-strength overhead guard for safety, combined with a wide and low step for easy and safe access to the truck.

Also designed with safety in mind, the Yale Seated MT60UX and Standing MT30UX electric tow tractors are made with readily available components for easy maintenance and reduced operational costs.

Their safety and structural design also includes an ergonomic operator compartment, incorporating spacious non-slip floor plate and anti-vibration function on the MT30UX, while the MT60UX’s drive axle design and low centre of gravity provide excellent stability, Yale says.

The MT60UX also includes Operator Presence System (OPS) and Emergency Stop buttons, which are also featured on other items in the UX series.

The Yale MP15UX electric walkie pallet truck has a small turning radius of 1.454mm and a long handle to reduce steering effort, along casters to increase stability and entry rollers for easy operation.

The machine’s floating balance wheel automatically adjusts height and improves stability when unloading.

Chaffey says Yale is positioning itself to help “move the world forward” after COVID-19, where the nature of business is changing.

“Yale is a large, global organisation, but our success has been built on sustaining personal relationships and establishing trust with customers who know we won’t let them down. So users of the new UX family get the best of both worlds – global strength and local service,” he says.

“This, combined with fast availability of cost-effective replacement parts, helps to curtail maintenance requirements and costs.”
