Fiat launches recall for 665 units over intercooler sleeve

A potential production issue with the throttle body manufacture on Ducato vans has led to a recall notice for 665 of them.

Those with the nominated 2018MY Fiat Ducato Van 2.3JTD E6 vehicles are advised to contact the nearest Fiat Professional Dealer to book in the vehicle so that existing intercooler sleeve and clamps can be replaced.

This is not the first time the intercooler sleeve has presented issues for the van, with more than a thousand recalled in February last year.

"The intercooler sleeve may detach and cause the engine malfunction indicator to illuminate and a loss of engine power," the most recent recall notice states.

"Loss of engine power may result in an accident and injury to occupants of the vehicle and other road users."

The VIN numbers of affected vehicles can be found here.
