Qube puts Liebherr LHM 420 crane to work in Tassie

A new Liebherr LHM 420 mobile harbour crane has been put to work at Qube Ports’ operation in Bell Bay, Tasmania.

The crane is a container-handling version with a twin-lift spreader. For the handling of project cargo, the LHM 420 provides a maximum lifting capacity of 124 tonnes at an outreach of up to 16m. The maximum reach of the crane is 48m.

This is the eighth Liebherr mobile harbour crane bought by Qube Ports – an integrated port solutions provider with services and facilities in 28 Australian ports, together with cargo storage, materials handling and distribution operations all over Australia.

The other Liebherr cranes are already based in Darwin, Bunbury, Port Hedland, Geraldton and Fremantle. The company also recently ordered 12 wheel loaders from the Switzerland-based equipment manufacturer.
