New Aussie Peacekeeper pressure cleaner keeps things quiet

Aussie Pumps has brought out the Aussie Peacekeeper, a silenced, 4000psi pressure-cleaner designed to alleviate hearing loss and make cleaning possible at night or in noise-sensitive areas.

The 275 bar pressure cleaner is powered by a silenced, high-tech, German 4-stroke diesel engine manufactured by Hatz of Rushstorf.

The engine is part of Hatz’s range of Supra ‘Silent Pack’ diesels which are designed for silent operation and are substantially more compact than conventional quiet machines that use an insulated box to supress noise.

Using the Hatz drive, the Aussie Peacekeeper provides users a low sound level of only 65dBA while providing 4000 psi of pressure and a 15 lpm flow to the high-pressure pump, Aussie Pumps (Australian Pump Industries) says.

"We chose the ‘Big Berty’ Bertolini slow-speed, heavy-duty triplex pump for the application and drove it through a 2:1 oil-filled reduction box," Aussie Pumps chief engineer John Hales says. "We use the gear box drive because it’s dust free and provides loads of power to the big slow-speed pump."

The Australian-designed machine has what Aussie Pumps calles a ‘Scud style’ heavy-duty frame mounted on a skid base.  The frame is fitted with forklift tyne slots to enable it to be easily loaded on and off vehicles or moved around farm or construction sites.

"We chose the combination of 15 lpm flow and 4000 psi pressure because that way we get the maximum amount of cleaning capacity with the minimum use of water," Hales says. "More pressure means faster cleaning and less waste of fuel, water and operator time."

A range of optional accessories, including turbos, that boost the cleaner’s effect to 6485 psi are available. These include flat-surface cleaners, telescopic lances and grit blasters.

"This machine also doubles as a very capable drain cleaner when teamed with an Aussie Viper mini reel," Hales says.

The Aussie Viper is a lightweight, portable reel with control lever and 60m of sewer cleaning hose. It is designed for use with any high pressure water blaster or sewer-cleaning ‘jetter’ up to 5000 psi.

In addition, "matching the Aussie Hot Link portable steam cleaning box to the Peacekeeper means the machine can also be turned into a steam cleaner for sterilising refuse bins, public toilets and other facilities", Hales adds.
