This system uses gravitational force and diverts oil back to the rams while the arm is lowering, according to JCB Construction Equipment Australia (JCB CEA) material handlers national product manager Anthony Lockwood.

That translates into 20 per cent faster cycle times and over four per cent saving on fuel consumption.

“The 540-180 Hi-Viz is designed to make the most efficient use of owner/operator time and money,” he says. “The machines are designed to ensure the maximum possible return on investment, with great fuel efficiency and low running costs, thanks to the innovative technology used in the Loadall range.”

Lockwood says the JCB telescopic handler also offers increased visibility and operator safety, plus improvements to the machine’s lift height and forward reach.

“This Loadall machine boasts an impressive 18m lift height and 4000kg lift capacity, which is unrivalled in the market,” he says, adding. “The compact design and versatility of the JCB Loadall range means they can take place of other machines on the work site, such as a mobile crane, skid steer, wheel loader or forklift.”

On board is a 55kW/74hp JCB EcoMAX engine, which is designed to use about 14 per cent less fuel than other models in the range.

On the safety side, the 540-180 Hi-Viz features JCB’s patented load control system and sway frames for a safe and more stable load placement, while hose burst check valves protect the driver and bystanders in the event of hose failure.
