Crown Equipment has launched the updated GX Plus Series combustion forklift

Crown has revised its entry-level GX Series forklifts with a series of improvements including a redesigned counterweight that optimises air flow and maximises cooling capacity. It says the facelift has given the forklift a more modern appearance.
On top of the counterweight and cosmetic improvements, the GX Plus Series also introduces an easy-to-read instrument panel that displays coolant and transmission oil temperatures, fuel level, operating hours, oil pressure and alternator voltage.
“The GX Plus Series offers the level of reliability, performance and operator-focused ergonomics typically available from Crown,” Crown sales and marketing director Craig Kenchington says.
“But at an entry price that makes it attractive to companies that don’t run their forklifts all day and might otherwise be considering a second-hand unit.”
The GX Plus Series is available in either diesel or LPG engine configurations, with a 44kW 3.3-litre Tier 3 Yanmar diesel or 46kW 2.5-litre Mitsubishi LPG unit.
The GX Plus’s improved cooling capacity, combined with a dual-element air cleaner, helps both engines maintain reliability between services. Both engines combine with the rigid transaxle and single-speed PowerShift transmission, streamlining maintenance.
The new forklift retains the GX Series’ ergonomically designed operator’s cabin, which features generous legroom, low cowl height, optimally located pedals, adjustable steering column and an overhead guard designed for increased visibility.
“Its improved ergonomics have made it a stronger proposition for both operators and owners, while its improved cooling performance makes it better suited to working in hot Australian conditions,” Kenchington says.
“The GX Series has always been a tough truck and it remains so as the GX Plus Series.
“The GX Plus Series’ well-regarded diesel and LPG engine choices, bulletproof drivetrain and task-focused cabin mean it’s a serious proposition that can help make small businesses into bigger ones,” Kenchington adds.
