  • Up to 3.8 tonne lift capacity
  • High-capacity 190 lpm hydraulic system
  • New design and curved cab for improved visibility

The MF TH7038 has a lift capacity of 3.8 tonnes, a maximum lift height of 7m and a high-capacity hydraulic system delivering a flow of up to 190 litres per minute, which makes it ideal for contractors or co-operatives, AGCO says.

The telescopic handler is powered by a 4.4-litre, four-cylinder Perkins engine which delivers 130hp.

It features a fan Inverter – also used on MF 9000 telehandlers – with an automatic option that can regulate speed depending on air temperature or can be adjusted to work at a pre-set speed. This, AGCO says, keeps the engine clean and working efficiently.

A four-range hydrostatic transmission provides low-speed, high-torque delivery through two mechanical gears and two hydrostatic ranges, providing operators with accurate control during material handling.

All models have three selectable steering modes: two-wheel steer; four-wheel steer; and crab-steer. The easy-to-set creeper function is designed for operations that demand low speed at higher engine revs, providing increased control and accuracy for operations such as sweeping, feeding and straw spreading.

The 190 lpm hydraulic system features proportional electro-hydraulic control, which AGCO says delivers optimum accuracy and productivity.

“This delivers superb lifting performance even at low engine speeds,” the company says, “with Massey Ferguson’s SHS (Smart Handling System) allowing operators to set the maximum flow for smooth and accurate operation.

“Cushion Retract is now fitted to the boom, ensuring a smoother action and prolonging the life of the components. An additional electric control can be specified to provide a fourth and fifth service to operate demanding implements, such as straw choppers and feeding buckets.”

The cab of the Massey Ferguson TH7038 telehandler is designed to be quiet and comfortable, with controls arranged in an ergonomic, convenient layout.

A wide-opening door has been included to make it easier to get in and out when the work requires operators to dismount frequently – such as on dairy and livestock farms. An electronic park brake is standard, and a high-comfort suspended seat is available as an option.

Operating comfort is further improved by the boom suspension option, which reduces shocks when working on rough terrain and in transport.

AGCO says the MF TH telehandler cab offers best-in-class visibility by using curved glass and a streamlined engine bonnet and low boom pivot point.

The “unrivalled” view to the rear is useful when working in tight and narrow spaces, the company says, while an unobstructed view of front attachments allows for the safe and precise loading and unloading, making it easier and safer to position bales or pallets at elevated working heights.

The new model even features a new front wiper design which incorporates an additional small wiper to keep the screen clearer than before.

“This new MF TH Telehandler takes our continuous improvement programme to an ever greater level,” Massey Ferguson product manager John Russell says.

“The new features on our renowned machines now deliver customers even higher performance, which allow them to carry out their work in more comfort, with greater productivity and with lower costs.”
