To be seen at Oil and Gas Asia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in July, the GNExB2LD2 is an IECEx and ATEX approved explosion-proof high-output multifunction beacon housed within a robust IP66 corrosion proof enclosure made from glass-reinforced polyester (GRP).

The GRP enclosure also ensures the light can withstand extreme temperatures between -50 and 70 degrees Celsius and is suitable for all Zone 1, 2, 21, and 22 hazardous location signalling applications.

The E2S LED beacons use a multiple array of high-power white Cree LEDs which E2S says has significant advantages over traditional Xenon strobe technology seen in many other beacons. The typical output of the beacon’s LEDs is 338 effective candela.

The GNExB2LD2 is available with UV stable polycarbonate lenses in a variety of colours including amber, blue, clear, green, magenta, red and yellow depending on the task the beacon is performing. The lens filters are field replaceable, enabling quick and easy reassignment of beacon function.

The E2S beacons use five different flash rates for warning situations – 1, 1.5 and 2Hz as well as double and triple flashes. They can also be used in either high or low power solid light status indicator uses. There are also DC voltage powered versions of the GNExB2LD2 which have three remotely selectable stages which enables multiple warnings to be signalled from the one device.

The GNExB2LD2 system is also available as a plated assembly with 4 LED beacons and a GNExJ2 junction box or 5 LED beacons without the junction box.

The beacons have an expected working life of around 60,000 hours.
