Zoomlion has shown off the T8030-25, a new type of superstructure-slewing, self-climbing topless tower crane, at this month’s CONEXPO-CON/AGG equipment show in Las Vegas.

The company, based in Changsha, China, says that its design is based on those of Franz Jost, a world-renowned tower crane designer who created the Peiner SK series. In 2011 Zoomlion bought the rights to the full set of Jost topless tower crane technologies.

The company says the T8030-25 "boasts excellent hoisting performance and working efficiency" with a maximum hoisting capacity of 25 tonnes and a variable jib length ranging from 40m to 80m.

"Safety and stability of the core electrical system have been significantly improved to achieve ever greater perfection," Zoomlion says.

"Highly reliable components that pass UL certification together with a protection circuit designed in line with advanced UL certification standards give the machine higher safety performance and more comprehensive protection."

An intelligent fault diagnosis system and video monitoring system allow for easier daily maintenance, it adds.
