Duechting releases heavy-duty WRX pumps

Duechting has expanded its range of pumps with the introduction of the WRX series of single-stage centrifugal pumps in Europe.

Duechting says the WRX series pumps have been designed with tough conditions and abrasive products in mind. The unit can handle flow rates of up to 5000 cubic metres per hour and pressures up to 16 bar and is suitable for sand and gravel plants, iron and steel manufacturing, chemical applications and mining.

The WRX has been built with oversized wall thickness, to protect against abrasive or corrosive particulate wear. The hydraulic moving parts of the pump are made of high-grade cast iron and have been selected specifically by Duechting engineers for each individual task. Wear parts have been made from abrasion-resistant cast iron with a minimum hardness rating of 550HV.

Suited to a wide range of tasks, the WRX can be customised to suit particular needs. Shaft sealing can be achieved by stuffing box, mechanical seal or hydraulic shaft seal. The pump drive can be belt-driven or direct-drive depending on need. The modular design of the unit means it can also be constructed in a vertical cantilever design that allows the pump to be used underwater.

Duechting says keeping operator costs down was a key driver in the WRX’s design. The pump’s oil or grease lubricated heavy duty bearings have been engineered to ensure long service life as well as reducing vibration and noise.

Maintenance (and therefore downtime) has also been reduced with the pumps back pull out design allowing for the rotating assembly to be fully removed while the casing remains in its position. The pump is also designed to operate at low speeds which reduce wear and tear, extending the pump’s life.

The brand new pumps will be on show at the Bauma expo which kicked off yesterday in Munich, Germany. Duechting products are available in Australia through Renroc Group.
