Alfasi Hire which operates four branches across Australia is the first company in the country to receive the HA16RTJ Pro, while Porter Access is the first in New Zealand to receive the machine.

Haulotte Australia and New Zealand general manager Keith Clarke says the company is excited to see the range arrive in the country and go to such strong customers.

“The HA16 has always been a strong product for Haulotte and is one of the biggest selling lines for Haulotte globally so we are excited to see these first machines arrive into the Australian and New Zealand markets,” he says.

He adds Haulotte has worked very closely with its customers to design the new range, specifically the HA16RTJ Pro model.

“This machine is incredibly smooth and fast to operate,” he says.

“We added an oscillating axle and on-board diagnostics but left in all the extras our customers said were important, including 360 continuous slew and 4-wheel steer.

“The HA16RTJ Pro has been designed to meet customers’ requirements with a machine that is simple, robust, reliable and easy to maintain with optimal performance and a high level of safety.”

The HA16 RTJ Pro features three steering configurations which are 4-wheel steer, 2-wheel steer and crab steer. The selection can be made using the selector on the upper control box.

The HA16 RTJ range has a ground clearance of 38cm, 40 per cent gradeability and 4-wheel drive on all models, deeming it suitable for work on rough terrains.

A permanent anti-slipping differential on the machines evenly distributes power to the wheels. Additionally, a hydraulic differential lock can be activated manually for maximum efficiency on more difficult rough terrain.

The HA16 RTJ Pro also features cured-on solid tyres that Haulotte says are longer lasting than foam filled tyres and more environmentally friendly as well.

A new Kubota engine has a variable motor speed halving the noise level and reducing fuel consumption by 15 per cent.

The turret hood features a brand new design reinforced by a metal sub-frame for the best resistance in all conditions.

Haulotte says the HA16 RTJ range is fully compliant with working regulations (AS1418-10) and is ideal for a wide range of applications such as steel erection, cladding, painting, plumbing, electrics, air conditioning, demolition and pruning.

Safety features on the range include a secondary guarding device, the Haulotte Activ Shield Bar which serves to reduce the risk of crushing during a job.

Haulotte adds the HA16 RTJ booms can be driven at maximum speed with the jib raised, giving excellent visibility of the working area.

Alfasi Hire general manager Gary Murphy says the company decided to order the new machines after seeing them at a preview launch last year.

“We believe the new range of boom lifts, starting with the HT23RTJ and now the HA16RTJ Pro, are the next generation of boom lifts in terms of technology, performance, serviceability and features,” he says.

“The productivity gains to the customer through faster operation, proportional controls, greater gradebility as well as ground clearance make these must have machines for our fleet.

“In addition the diagnostic tool and features are class leading.”

Porter Access, which has been a Haulotte customer for the past 10 years, says it also placed orders for the new machines as part of its commitment to supply customers with the best construction access equipment available on the market.
