Ansell HyFlex Intercept gloves promise better cut resistance

A range of cut-protection HyFlex gloves featuring new ‘Intercept Technology’ has been released by Ansell, which specialises in the design, development and manufacture of hand and arm protection, clothing and condoms.

Ansell says Intercept is a new knitting technology that blends engineered, synthetic and natural fibres into high-performance yarns for hand protection in work environments where sharp tools and materials are handled and cut risks are high, such as the automotive, metal fabrication and machinery equipment industries.

There are six medium- and light-duty glove styles in the new HyFlex Intercept range, offered in EN cut level 3, 4 and 5, and ANSI equivalent cut protection styles.

“The four new light duty styles are nitrile based and eight times more breathable than similar lightweight gloves and two and a half times more breathable than other cut protection gloves, according to tests conducted in our R&D labs,” Ansell says.

“New engineered fibres not only offer protection against cut risks but also provide all day comfort for increased worker compliance.”

The medium-duty, palm-dipped styles are: the 13-guage, EN Cut Level 3 Hyflex 11-724; the 15-gauge/level 3 Hyflex 11-727; and the 10-guage/level 5 Hyflex 11-735.

In the light-duty segment are: the palm-dipped 18-guage/level 3 Hyflex 11-531; the three-quarter-dipped ultralight/level 3 Hyflex 11-537; and the fully coated ultralight/level 3 Hyflex 11-539.

The new gloves have features such as a silicon-free coating, dirt-masking colours, a more tailored, comfortable fit and improved grip and abrasion resistance.
