Spanish materials handling expert Bomaq has recently released its 5 tonne B50MP forklift model, and Australia will be the first country to receive the new machines.

In addition to the B30MP forklift (pictured), Bomaq's Australian distributor Lencrow Materials Handling will also be offering the brand's new 5 tonne B50MP forklift from January 2015.

The units are expected to arrive in the country this month and will be available via Bomaq’s exclusive Australian distributor, Lencrow Materials Handling.

Lencrow Managing Director Ross Grassick told Forkliftaction that the company has been rapt with the 3 tonne B30MP forklift which was brought in to Australia for distribution just last year.

"We have been so impressed with the quality and performance of the Bomaq we have forward ordered the new 5000kg model anticipating that this is the forklift missing in the market," he says.

"The units roll out of the container ready for work."

According to Bomaq, the new 5 tonne model has been developed based on the popular B30MP to offer customers the same level of comfort and productivity in a bigger weight category.

Bomaq says a highlight of the new B50MP is that it can fit into a 20 feet high container (depending on the mast height) instead of 40 feet high containers which are usually required for forklifts from other brands of the same weight category. This translates to savings in transportation costs.

"We have two units being delivered early in 2015 with fully enclosed cabins and pressure air conditioning," Grassick adds.

"This keeps the cabin pressure higher than outside. The advantage of this is that it stops the ingress of dust making the drivers compartment more comfortable and much cleaner."

All Bomaq forklifts are powered by Perkin engines and feature Linde hydrostatic drive pump and motors.

A 7 tonne model is currently in the works and is expected to be released to the market some time this year.

In addition to the B50MP, Lencrow has also placed orders for a lower-profile version of the B30MP forklift which features a height of less than 2000mm but carries all other options found on the standard B30MP model.

Bomaq says the modified B30MP forklift is suitable for use in spaces with low height restrictions such as basements.
