Kohler Generators has produced the new 24RCL 24 kW standby generator to provide industrial-grade power in a compact design aimed at light-commercial and even home applications.
Similar to other Kohler standby generators, the 24RCL automatically turns on within seconds of a power outage. It runs on self-feeding fuels such as liquid propane gas (LPG) or natural gas, so there’s no need for refuelling.
The 60 Hz single-phase and 60 Hz three-phrase (208, 240 and 480V) unit has a 1,800-rpm, 2.2-litre inline-four-cylinder engine and sits in a corrosion-resistant, neutral-coloured aluminium enclosure.
“The 24RCL model features an industrial-grade engine that can power everything in a small business, including major mechanicals and sophisticated electronics,” says Kohler Generators Director of Marketing Residential/Light Commercial Thomas Landrum. “It provides high-quality, reliable backup power to keep businesses functioning when power is lost during extended periods.”
The 24RCL runs at reduced sound levels due to a three-fan, automotive-style cooling system. It runs at 61 decibels during normal operation and 55 decibels during weekly exercise, which is no louder than a typical conversation.
The generator is currently available in the United States, but its launch date in Australia has yet to be confirmed.
