Toyota launches new outdoor reach truck

TMHA's newest release - the BT O-series RRE160R reach truck

Toyota Material Handling Australia (TMHA) has launched a new reach truck – the BT O-series RRE160R the company says is designed to operate on outdoor surfaces.

TMHA says the truck has a ground clearance of 145mm and super-elastic tyres, allowing it to operate on rugged, loose surfaces while the tyres provide secure grip on wet or high-temperature asphalt.

TMHA BT & Raymond National Sales and Product Manager Dean Watson says the new model adds a new dimension to reach-truck capability.

“It combines the space-saving benefits of a narrow-aisle reach truck with the indoor/outdoor flexibility of a rubber-tyred counter-balance forklift,” he says.

Watson adds the model will give customers maximum flexibility, increased productivity and reduced costs.

“Potential buyers will include hardware and garden stores, construction companies, dairy and farm producers, and warehouse operators.”

The BT RRE160R is based on the BT Reflex R-series model with the wheel and gearbox configurations adapted to allow for effective work on outdoor surfaces.

Some of the features include:

  • BT’s Transitional Lift Control (TLC) system for fast, secure working at height
  • Driver cab with BT’s “total view” concept
  • AC electric motors
  • 360 degree steering
  • Payload capacity: 1600kg
  • Lift height: 7500mm
