The Manitou Group is releasing a new range of internal combustion engine forklift trucks in Australia.

The new models form the MI range, which consists of 12 different forklifts of various engine powers and load capacities.

According to a Manitou media release, the forklift range is to serve as foundation for a number of different supplementary services.

The Managing Director of Manitou Australia, Stuart Walker, says that "Nowadays, customers expect more than just a machine. This is why we are offering a material handling solution tailored to the constraints of our client in terms of production and logistics."

"We intend to address a particular client request that can also be broken down into various further demands, like the level of commitment, the complex environment, the tracking of the fleet, and the many different needs," he added.

The forklifts feature an openwork roof, allowing the operator a better view at higher up loads. The cab is also said to be spacious, as well as easy to use.

The power and load capacities range from the MI 15 G, which has a capacity of 1.5t and a 31.5kW engine, to the MI 35D, which has a capacity of 3.5t with a 42.1kW engine.

All of the models in the MI range have an inching function on the transmission in order to reduce jolting when carrying larger loads. In addition, maintenance is said to be simplified due to having an easy to open hood and more accessible components.
