New JCB machines praised at Paris International Agribusiness Show 2017

Two of JCB’s newest products have been named Machines of the Year for 2017 at one of the world’s leading agricultural shows.

The 8000 Series JCB Fastrac received the award in the 280-400hp tractor category, while the JCB Agripro Loadall telehandler took out the award in the materials handling section.

The awards were handed out at the SIMA show in Paris where the new products made their international show debuts.

“We are delighted to have won both of these awards, which are a tribute to the whole JCB team involved in the design, engineering and manufacturing of these two innovative products,” a JCB spokesperson said after the awards were announced.

The Fastrac 8000 Series was said to top the 280-400hp tractor category due to its speed, comfort and innovation.

The JCB Agripro Loadalls feature a unique DualTech VT variable transmission by combining the hydrostatic with powershift in a single transmission, which helped it secure the award for its class.

The Machine of the Year competition honours the most innovative agricultural products and winners are decided by a jury of European journalists specialising in farm machinery.

In order to compete, machines must be sold in at least five European countries.

These awards come soon after JCB announced a partnership with Williams Martini Racing for the 2017 Formula One season.

JCB branding will appear on the Williams Mercedes FW40 chassis and rear wing end plate, as well as drivers Felipe Massa and Lance Stroll’s race suits and helmets.

JCB CEO Lord Bamford says his company thrives on innovation, as does the world of motorsports.

“We frequently combine our engineering expertise with some of the best automotive technologies which means our machines are very fuel efficient and intuitive to operate,” he says.

“Our partnership with Williams Martini Racing builds on that innovative and technological link and our company’s long association with motorsport.”
