Two Liebherr LHM 280 mobile harbour cranes combine forces in Toledo, United States.

This is up from the old record of 102 cranes delivered by Liebherr in 2008.

Europe (including Russia) was again the prime market for mobile harbour cranes, the company reports, receiving 42 units or nearly 38 percent of all deliveries in 2014.

Second was the African market, where 33 units (almost 30 percent) started operation last year — triple the annual number of units supplied in 2013. The remainder was made up of deliveries to Oceania, Asia, the Americas and the Middle East.

"The LHM order backlog for 2015 is one of the highest ever," Liebherr Maritime Cranes says. "Moreover, the demand for Liebherr mobile harbour cranes and their innovative features is on a very high level throughout the world. For that reason, Liebherr is optimistic that 2015 will be another successful year for its mobile harbour cranes."

Besides mobile harbour cranes, Liebherr’s port equipment lineup includes: ship to shore container cranes (STS); fixed and rail mounted cargo cranes; rail-mounted stacking cranes (RMG) with varying spans (of 30m to 72m) and overhangs; rubber tyre gantry cranes (RTG) in spans ranging from five to seven containers wide plus truck lane and hoisting heights of up to 1-over-5 containers; straddle carriers for up to 50-tonne twin lift operation; reachstackers; electro-hydraulic slewing cranes; duty cycle crawler cranes with attachments including grabbers, drag buckets, diaphragm wall grabbers and pipe laying machines; hydraulic excavators; and loaders and crawlers.
