WA based engineering company RCR Tomlinson has secured an exclusive license to distribute Kopax mining and materials handling equipment in Australia.

RCR today announced to the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) it had secured a licence for distribution in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea for the full range of equipment Kopex produces in Gorlitz.

Under the licence, RCR will be responsible for marketing, development, construction, assembly, and installation for a range of Kopex technology.

The technology includes stackers, reclaimers, ship loaders, crushers, belt conveyors, bucket wheel excavators, screens, and in-pit crushing and conveying technology for mining processes.

RCR CEO Paul Dalgleish says the Kopex agreement is a strategic milestone.

"We are very pleased to have secured this licence, which enhances our existing range of mining materials handling equipment solutions far beyond what we had ever envisioned for this business," Dalgleish says.

"This licence with Kopex enables RCR to be the first Australian company to be able to deliver the complete range of mining equipment and material handling products, which are currently supplied by off-shore companies, built specifically for Australian conditions and ores."

Kopex is a member of Kopex Group, headquartered in Poland.
