Toyota updates warehouse forklift range

Toyota Material Handling Australia (TMHA) is updating its forklift range by introducing a number of innovative products.

Toyota’s updates to its forklift range include a power-steering-equipped walkie reach truck, a new sit-down reach truck with equipped with a “true vision” mast, and an update to the Mini Mover electric pallet jack and walkie stacker.

TMHA national sales and product manager Jim Lobow says the introduction of the new products was the result of Toyota continually seeking ways to offer the best warehousing equipment for its customers.

“In keeping with the Toyota philosophy of Kaizen, or ‘continuous improvement’, TMHA is always striving to offer the highest quality products and services possible that meet the varied needs of our customers,” Lobow says.

According to Toyota, the new SWE120XR walkie reach stacker, which includes a retractable mast, combines the compact size of a stacker with the flexibility of a reach truck. The reach stacker also features a tight turning radius, power steering as standard, and mast tilt.

Other key features of the Toyota SWE120XR include a mast position sensor, controlled reach speeds, and a soft start/stop function. All this equates to a machine that Toyota says is an ideal space-saving solution for use in narrow aisles and cold storage applications.

The range of the SWE120XRs mast tilt is 1.2 degrees forward and 1.8 degrees backwards. All driver controls are located on the tiller arm which, according to Toyota, enables smooth and precise control.

Toyota’s Optimised Truck Performance (OTP) technology controls acceleration, braking and steering depending on speed, while the Click-2-Creep function enables the driver to operate the walkie stacker with the arm in an upright position at very low speeds, improving driveability in confined areas.

Toyota’s new Reflex RRE H Series reach truck is an updated version of the popular model in the TMHA line-up.

“The new BT Reflex RRE H Series has a new-generation ‘true vision’ mast that offers greater reach height of 13 metres, up from 10.5 metres,” Lobow says.

“The new, higher-capacity mast can handle more weight at a greater height, making it a more robust and versatile option than many of its competitors.”

Other new features of the Toyota BT Reflex RRE H Series reach truck include upgraded steering, with four pre-defined operator settings, and a redesigned overhead guard that offers improved visibility for the operator with a transparent roof option.

TMHA’s product update also includes its popular Toyota Mini Mover LWE130 compact electric-powered pallet jack and HWE100S stacker, now with the addition of PIN code access.

“This popular feature assists managers and supervisors in restricting unauthorised use of the pallet jack by assigning operator codes, thereby increasing security and safe use in the warehouse,” Lobow says.

TMHA’s updated product range is expected to be available to customers in the second half of 2017.
