Compressor specialist Kaeser claims its newest product, the compact M57 Utility compressor offers users the advantages of a modern stationary screw compressor and the location flexibility of a portable compressor.
Powered by a diesel engine, the unit does not require an external power supply.
The M57 utility compressor was designed to be installed as a stationary compressor on the flatbed of a truck. It features a fixed crane eye on the top of the unit’s housing for easy loading, as well as forklift pockets in the closed base frame for safe manoeuvring using a forklift truck.
Manufactured in Germany, the M57 compressor has a drive power of 36kW to offer an effective free air delivery of 5.1m3/min at 7 bar. The unit can be used in ambient temperatures down to -25 degrees Celsius.
At the heart of each unit is a durable rotary screw compressor block featuring the well-known Sigma Profile rotors which Kaeser says use 15 per cent less energy compared to conventional compressor block rotor designs.
Keser adds its efficient 1:1 drive design eliminates the transmission losses associated with gear or V belt driven systems, as the compressor block is directly driven by water-cooled, 4-cylinder Kubota diesel engine.
All maintenance points are easily accessed once the applicable retaining pins have been removed from the load floor side. Fuelling is carried out from the front face of the unit where the control panel, maintenance connections and three component air connections are also located.
A fuel filter with water separator is fitted as standard, as well as a vertical discharge steel exhaust pipe that comes with a rain protection flap.
Users can choose from a wide range of tools and accessories including a screw-in machine feet, tool lubricators and compressed air after-coolers to tailor units to suit their needs.
