New Bomaq all-terrain forklift arrive in Australia

Spanish materials handling specialist Bomaq’s new all-terrain forklift was unveiled at the Hire and Rental Show in Gold Coast earlier this year by the company’s Australian distributor Lencrow Group.

The Bomaq B30MP was designed and developed in the south of Spain by experienced off-road forklift engineer Antonio Martínez in response to customer feedback collected over the years.

After three years of development, the result is a 3 tonne unit with unique features such as a 2600mm turning circle in both 4WD and 2WD modes and a twin joy stick operation controlled by pilot pressure hydraulics. The machine also features a large open cabin and low entry height for optimum operator comfort, making it ideal for hire and rental purposes.

The unit is powered by a 400 series Perkins diesel engine and Linde hydrostatics. The power torque from this combination gives the B30MP a top speed of 24km/h through the two speed transmission and allows a 35 per cent gradient climbing while fully loaded in low range.

Given the weight of the unit, the Bomaq B30MP has the footprint of a 2.5 tonne machine with the capability to handle applications and attachments the latter is deemed too light for.

Lencrow Managing Director Ross Grassick says it was the versatility of the machine that really caught his attention.

“This is truly the unit that will work in a warehouse if need and get out in the dirt when required,” he says.

“When we look for units that we will use in our hire operation we have three boxes to tick, first is ease of operation, second is quality components and sound manufacture, and third is ease of service. This unit covered all of these.”

Bomaq is preparing to launch a 5000kg model in September.
